Zakopane receives over 2,500,000 visitors each year. In the winter, visitors to Zakopane can enjoy winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, ski jumping, snowmobiling, sledding, snowshoeing, ice skating, and more. During the summer, visitors can enjoy hiking, climbing, biking, and horseback riding in the Tatra Mountains, which have many trails. Visitors can ride quad bikes and rentable off-road vehicles. Swimming and boating in the Dunajec River are also popular activities. Many people come to experience the local culture, which includes a unique and rich style of food, language, architecture, music, and clothing. Zakopane is particularly popular with tourists during the winter holidays, which are celebrated with traditional-style dancing, horse-drawn sleigh rides called kuligs, and traditional meals such as roast lamb. A popular tourist activity is to stroll through the town's most popular street: Krupówki. The area is filled with shops, restaurants, carnival rides, and performers. Krupówki Street is packed with tourists during both the winter and summer tourist seasons. In summer, there is a local market in the Krupówki strip. At the market, merchants sell all kinds of clothing, including leather jackets, traditional clothes, fur coats, shoes and wallets, and serve food such as the famous smoked sheep cheese Oscypek, fruits, vegetables and meat. There are also many stalls selling various Zakopane souvenirs. Zakopane also has a lot of nightlife activities. Most of the bars and clubs are located in Krupowki Street. Many bars are located in Zakopane: Paparazzi, Cafe Piano, Anemone, Cafe Antrakt, Literatka, Winoteka Pod Berlami and Karczma u Ratownikow, etc.
